Figure Drawing and Painting Course

The aim of this intensive course is to teach our students how to represent the figure realistically through drawing and painting.

The drawing classes entail sketching the movement of the body and learning the shadowing techniques to express form. During these lessons, students will draw from a live model and photographs with pencil and charcoal. Figure drawing classes include studying the proportions and the anatomical structure of the human body. This will help to draw the figure correctly from any perspective.

During the figure painting classes, students learn how to mix different skin colors and create harmony in the painting through warm and cool skin tones. We use oil colors and fast drying mediums to paint big shapes of light and shadow tones, and gradually advance in painting the details of the body.

We work with photographic references and once a week with live male or female models. Models pose for two hours per session, this way students have time to create a precise drawing or painting. On occasion, we organize classes outside, so our students can draw the statues of Florence museums and squares.

The drawing materials are included in the course price. The painting materials are of the students expense. We accept new students every Monday.

The classes take place from Monday to Friday. Semi-Intensive courses are from 9:00am - 1:00pm. Intensive courses are from 10:00am - 1:00pm and 2:00pm - 5:00pm.

You can enroll by paying the deposit and filling out our short student registration form, indicating your preferred start date and duration of the course. The remaining balance will be paid on the first day of class.
