This course offers a step-by-step program that includes both portrait drawing and portrait painting methods. In order to make the learning process easy and effective, we begin the course by introducing portrait drawing techniques. The main topics of the classes are:
How to measure the proportions of the face in order to draw the character of the person.
The anatomy of the head and expressions.
Drawing the details and creating a realistic portrait, applying the shadowing techniques.
As the students progress, we pass to the portrait painting classes. In this second stage of the course, students learn about the techniques we use in order to paint expressive and realistic portraits with oil colors. The topics covered by portrait painting classes are:
How to paint the details of the face realistically
How to choose the right color palette and compositions in painting portraits with oils.
The course ends with the realization of a personal project or self portrait.
We except new students every Monday. The drawing materials are included in the course price. The oil painting materials are of the students expense.
The classes take place from Monday to Friday. Semi-Intensive courses are from 9:00am - 1:00pm. Intensive courses are from 10:00am - 1:00pm and 2:00pm - 5:00pm.
